Sussex-MTB

We decided to head over to Brighton in search of the trails in the youtube video that Damo found. I had places to go after so I decided the train would be the best option and we met up on the platform at Worthing ready to catch the 09:06 to Hove.

A few places were suggested as to where the trails could be so we had a few areas to check out. We met Martin at the top of Hove park and set off up the hill. Considering how good the weather has been recently it was amazing how quickly a bit of rain could turn the place back to it’s usual porridge like winter grot. We took the usual trails down to the A23 then headed off south to do a bit of exploring. 

One suggestion was the woods behind Withdean Stadium, but there was nothing happening there, so we continued off over the road and up through the park opposite. There was some nice singletrack there, but still not what we were looking for. Following the usual trails over to Hollingbury we stopped to do a few of the sets of mini doubles on the tennis courts before moving on.

The decision was made to look one last place and amazingly after one mistaken turn we found it:

After that we moved on to our more familiar stomping ground and headed straight for the tea rooms…….

Fully re-fuelled we were pleased to find that Martin had left his hip flask in his bag Tuesday night, so we had a quick snifter of single malt before heading out for more singletrack.
