The weather was looking dodgy this week, but despite a few really heavy downpours during the day the downs were satisfyingly dry and dusty! I was hoping for a slightly less mad ride than the last one this week as I am still recovering from a nasty bout of ‘man flu’ so I didn’t want to go mad.
It was great to see Deadly back out again and Tangledfoot, Felly and myself completed the compact and bijou ride.
The sheep track was not only dry and dusty, but also it seems some of the washboard section at the top, caused by the snow earlier in the year, is finally starting to smooth out a bit, I still prefer to do it as a climb though
Anyway, it was a fairly typical Tuesday spin, taking in some fine singletrack, a spot of toad clearing and also a couple of refuelling stops to sample some of Mrs Tangledfoots flapjack and also some rather nice chilli chocolate I picked up from Montezumas in Brighton. you can see a couple more photos here.

Hi – nice to meet you at the top of the Chanctonbury climb! I’ll try to persuade the Mrs. to make some cakes/flapjack and come join you boys for a ride………
