We were pretty lucky with the weather and a good group turned out for the ride, including Ronnie from Brighton MTB, who usually uses a passport to come this far west
So for once I actually had a route in mind and I was looking to do something a little different to usual. Lozzer was demo’ing the Scott so it seemed only fair to put in some big climbs too just for him!
Included just for a change was the short singletrack round the back of Chanctonbury Ring. We usually go straight past, but since I discovered it whilst on ‘gardening leave’ last year I like to do it from time to time. Dropping across the field by the dew pond at Chanctonbury we went in to the chalk pits and followed the bridleway along the back of the downs before climbing back up to the top at the ropeswings. It was such a nice day some extra singletrack was required so we went along the SDW and did the top of ‘white roots’ before heading for home.
All in all a fun day out, back when it was Summer!!
Here’s a few more pictures from the day…..
